Images & Usage
Images and information must be properly credited. Each artwork page includes a Source/Credit section.
Please verify usage rights before reproducing this image.
Niko Pirosmani died in 1918. Under the Law of Georgia on Copyright and Neighboring Rights, copyright lasts for the author’s life and for 70 years after death, counted from 1 January of the following year, so these paintings left copyright at the end of 1988. The museum shows photographs of them for study. Many of those photographs are the files published by WikiArt. Titles were also read in the Beyeler exhibition guide, on art.gov.ge, in the National Library of Georgia, and on Wikimedia Commons. Each painting’s page names the picture’s source.
Funding
The Pirosmani Digital Museum gratefully acknowledges the support of Mesma (mesma.ge), a Georgian cultural fund dedicated to preserving and promoting the nation's artistic heritage. Mesma provided 3,000 GEL in project funding to help establish this multilingual digital catalogue and make Pirosmani's work accessible to audiences worldwide.
