Description
A train crosses the Kakhetian landscape.
Cultural Note
Pirosmani worked for the railway from 1890 - 1893, which makes public transport a uniquely recurring theme in his paintings. Train in Kakheti and The Tiflis Funicular show Georgia as a modernised, technologically developing country, rather than outside modernity.
