Description

The battle of Krtsanisi is shown as a historical scene.

Cultural Note

Pirosmani’s paintings also show many Georgian historical figures, such as Erekle II and Giorgi Saakadze, which circulated in 19th century Georgian visual culture. This, in turn, helped facilitate Georgian culture and history, and make it known more worldwide.
