Description
A giraffe stands alone against a dark background.
Cultural Note
There’s an unusual emotional presence in Pirosmani’s depictions of animals. Many connect his deer imagery to older Georgian Christian symbols, while his painting of the Giraffe has many interpretations, ultimately signifying his self-taught skills.
